How to Celebrate Mother's Day from Home!

5/01/2020

Mother's Day is coming up! In about one week, on May 10th, mothers everywhere will be celebrated and showered with love and appreciation. Even if you can't get together with your mother in person on her special day, there are several ways you can celebrate her from afar. John Elliott Interiors has some great ideas to help you celebrate your mother this year. Read on to learn more!

Send a Small Gift

With a full week still left before Mother's Day, it could still be possible to send a physical gift. Many businesses, including Amazon, even have a gift option. They will hide the nature and price of the gift from view on the outside and wrap it in a beautiful fabric bag, tied with a ribbon. How cute!

Host a Zoom Party

Zoom has become an incredibly popular service during this time, as businesses and families make an effort to stay connected. Invite your siblings and other close family members to a Zoom call and have a great time together catching up and celebrating your mom. You could plan ahead and have everyone prepare something special to share with her about the things you appreciate most.

Send a Gift Certificate

What mom doesn't love the idea of a spa day, a shopping trip, or a stay at a beautiful bed and breakfast. All of these great ideas can be given in the form of a gift card! Many businesses offer gift certificates in an online form, so you can email it directly to her or to someone in her household to print off for a physical copy.

Make an E-Card

There are several free websites that let you create e-cards to send to someone's email. You can add photos to dancing figures, write your own text, or send a thoughtful poem. Imagine the surprise on your mom's face when she opens her email to find a personal, beautiful note from you.

Create a Video

You don't have to be an expert videographer to create a meaningful video slideshow for your mom. Use free editing software (there is usually one installed on your computer already) and some of your favorite photos together over the years to create a beautiful video she will cherish for ages. Even a one-minute video will mean so much on Mother's Day.

Celebrating in Tough Times

No matter what is going on in the world, it's important to continue making meaningful connections and keeping relationships strong. It may look different now, but we are still all in this together. When the Lake of the Ozarks reopens, John Elliott Interiors will still be here to bring more beauty into your lives and your homes.
