Game Room

Center the room around a nice, sturdy game table that can easily host poker night with the gang or game night with the family at a moment's notice. A fun and casual interior design is perfect for this area because it's a room meant for play. You'll want to have shelving to hold your board games, cards, poker chips, and other gaming supplies. The chairs should be comfortable enough to sit in for an extended period of time and there should be plenty of seating for all. A table for holding drinks and snacks is a great idea too. 

Instead of making it a room to play games, you could make it a place to watch games instead. Plan the décor around your favorite sport or team, add some comfortable recliners with cup holders, and a couple of side tables for snacks and the remote control. The entertainment center will be the focal point of the room, and a big TV and great sound system is a must.

Home Theater

If you're more into movies than sports, turn that spare room into a home theater instead. You will still want room for a giant-screen TV and premium sound system. A row of recliners offers movie theater-style seating or a large wraparound sofa is perfect for allowing a lot of people to sit together comfortably. You'll want to have plenty of storage to hold a large selection of your favorite movies. Proper lighting is important, and if there are a lot of windows in the room, blackout curtains are a good idea.

Craft Room

Use your spare room as a space to let your creative talents out. A sturdy table to work on can be the centerpiece. You will want lots of cabinets with plenty of storage to house all of your supplies. Depending on the type of crafting you prefer, stools are usually a good option for seating. A bookcase for magazines and books full of ideas could be nice too.

Home Office

Hide away work, bills, and the more serious stuff in your life from the rest of your house in a home office. A nice desk is a must and if you will be spending a lot of time on a computer in there, an ergonomic chair is best. Storage with doors helps to keep paper clutter and office supplies out of sight yet neatly stored and organized. This is a great room for a beautiful wall clock to keep you on schedule in a beautiful way.
