When hanging your artwork or wall art pieces, it's incredibly important to hang them at the appropriate height. Do you want to know the easiest way to hang them perfectly? Hang them at eye level. If you'll be walking through the room, you want to match your eye level while standing. If you will be sitting in the space - hang it at your sitting height. It's that simple. Afraid it's too high? Nudge it down a few, and you'll probably be much happier with the height.

The fastest way to make an entire space feel awkward is to hang a piece that is way too small in a room that is way too large - or vice-versa. If you have a piece that is too small, you can occasionally remedy it by adding a mat around the art, and a large frame. Have you decided on the style of interior you want but need color inspiration? Your home is your palace and being comfortable in your rooms is the number one priority. From the whole-house paint palette to furniture and accents, John Elliott Interiors can help you choose an overall palette for your decorating project. Bear in mind that just because you like a color doesn't mean it's necessarily ideal for your project. Start by focusing on the feel you're hoping to achieve. Do you want the space to be bright and cheery, or dark and cozy? Consider your location and the amount of light you have to work with then review these tips.

Paint Palette 

Note which rooms are visible to one another. As you walk through your house, note which spaces you can see from each room. Start by picking a wall color for the biggest, most centrally located room. This is likely to be your living room or kitchen, and it's a great place to start working on your whole-house palette.

• Soft, neutral hues for main rooms will open up the area for accent accessories and furniture, and remember, you can't go wrong with white.
• If you love color and have a certain hue in mind begin there. Looking out from the bold-hued room, choose a softer, more subdued color for the next rooms.
• Build your palette with shades of the same hue. For adjacent rooms or walls, choose a hue from a nearby paint chip. For a safe blended palette, you can pick the next color up or down on the same paint chip and rest assured that the colors will go well together.
